Happy New Year 2014

Happy New Year and Welcome to our New Blog "Seams We Sew".

With a New Year beginning it seems fitting to start a new blog too. In 2012 my daughter "Sharla" finally followed her mom and started to learn to sew. And sew is what she has done for the last year. Making wonderful garments, bags, gifts and everything in between, except no quilts for this gal as she plans to leave that up to mom. Mom "Terry" is the quilter and a long-arm quilter too. I make quilts that are meant to be used and snuggled and I do long-arm quilting as a business. CityView Quilting in Portland, OR. I had a blog but I didn't claim it awhile back, so now I can't find it. Another good reason to start a fresh new blog in this fresh New Year. I don't know about anybody else but I am glad to see 2013 go.
Our fresh new blog will be mostly a collaboration of " Sewist Sharla's creations and "Quilter Terry's personal collection of quilts in the making. Sharla makes so many really neat gifties for her friends and really deserves a place to show them off. I love to custom long arm quilt my own quilts and plan to share the good and bad here.

For Christmas Sharla made me this really nice carry bag for my new mini ipad.
The inside is well padded for protection and she added a zippered pocket to the front for the cord etc.

I've always admired Judi Madsen from
"Green Fairy Quilts" quilting. I go on her site every day just to get my eye candy fix for the day. Judi has a wonderful new book out called "Quilting Wide Open Spaces" which my BF Myree gifted to me for Christmas. I have read it cover to cover. It is a fantastic book for long-arm quilting, she spares no secrets, Thank you Judi for sharing. If you don't long arm quilt the quilt piecing patterns in the book are wonderful too.
Any who my goal for 2014 is to PPP everything Judi teaches in her book on my own quilts. In my stash of unquilted quilts,{I have many} I found the perfect quilt to start me on my journey of becoming a more interesting and better custom long-arm quilter.
Thank you for stopping by...Terry
