Medallion Along Update1

First Border Added to my Medallion Along quilt.

I knew there was a reason I was hesitant to participate in the Medallion Along quilt project. I rarely complete BOM's in fact the only quilt UFO's I have are BOM's. Not that I didn't like the projects to begin with, but I hated waiting for the next set of instructions and that's exactly what's happening to me now.
We got the instructions for adding the first round to our medallion at our last guide meeting. I came home and promptly added my first border and I love it.

I can't wait for the instructions for the next round...but I do have to wait all month long. I hope this doesn't become my next UFO.

Stay Tuned.
Terry

BTW Sharla has been busy sewing too.

Her new coat and a baby quilt will be coming here soon.

New Project

Just a quick check in to show you the cute little pillow Sharla made, plus she made me my
16" Medallion Block which I need\ for the next Portland Modern Quilt Guild meeting. She used our new fabrics from Japans. So stay turned, should work into something good to come

Sew it's Saturday

I'm so excited! I finished except for the binding my Plaster of Paris Sampler Quilt I've been working on! I used examples and technics found in Judy Madsen's from Green Fairy Quilting book 'Quilting Wide open Spaces". Mine doesn't compare to the beautiful work she produces but I'm happy with my results. I'm also happy she published her beautiful book for me as a guideline to learn from.

So here it is, all the wobbles
and bobbles and all.

My daughter, Sharla has been busy too since returning
from her winter break spent at the beach house. She didn't take her sewing machine because she had lots of UFO hand projects she wanted finished. The first day home she made this cute little pillow from fabric she found in my stash.
Sharla, It's Sew Cute!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just in time

Seems I finished my Flannel Star Lap Quilt just in time!

The binding is all done and my flannel star quilt is now keeping me nice and warm.

In my last post I showed you a quilt that I'm currently working on. I've almost finished long-arm quilting the body of the quilt and thanks to the new design software by Kim Diamond I have the empty blocks all figured out and ready to go. But today I want to start quilting the border design, if I'm lucky I might even get the borders finished today. My winter break ends this weekend and I have customer quilts waiting.
Before I go I want to tell you about the new design software program for long-arm quilter's that I mentioned. My GF Myree insisted I had to get. I bought it in October but just loaded it a few days ago.
It's called "Quilter's LightBox" by Kim Diamond.
I should have loaded this way back when, it's everything I've been looking for and more. I can't wait to play around with it more. I'll post more about it later, in the mean time go check it out for yourself.
